About me... Joined the army at the end of the whole Covenant thing, ended up with the Reds 'cause the civil war blew up when I was in training and things just all got kinda confused, got transferred to the Spartans later on. But things just seem to have gone really weird since then - and trust me, I know weird. So I'm here. Blood Gulch. Middle of nowhere... well, whatever...

Backstory: Born 2534, he was just a typical kid in a typical city as much as he could be. Got into trouble with friends, made his way through life as best he could. While he didn't have much contact with his father, a corporal in the Signal Corps, his mother always did the best he could. In turn, he learned to do what he could for the both of them.
Around the end of the Covenant war, he found himself mixed up in a rather complicated set of events involving breaking into a military base looking for a Forerunner artifact with a gang of friends and reluctant allies (a S1.1 among them), under the instructions of an powerful ex-military AI on the verge of rampancy (the ilovebees.com story). Inspired by everything that had happened, he signed up shortly after the fall of Reach, caught out before the Covenant made their current retreat. At eighteen, he was too young to be made a Spartan, and instead found himself a normal member of the forces for the time being. The civil war broke out around the end of his basic training; he found himself in the Red forces, and adjusted quickly. At twenty, he was given the option of joining the Spartans, on a recommendation from his CO - though rather conflicted, he went through it - as much out of jealousy of the S1.1s as anything else. Not the best move ever where his relationships were concerned... though he did pretty well in the force. For a while, anyway...

Any canon source/connection: 'I Love Bees'; may know some freelancers through Jan but want to confirm this first. (He fell out with her when he went Spartan; she's still in touch with Delaware but I'm not sure if she's a freelancer.)

Personality: Cocky, self assured, a bit immature at times. He's the kind of guy who wants to know everything that's going on, even when it's not a good idea - to the point it can get a bit intrusive. Absolutely hates having secrets kept from him. He was the troublemaker of his last posting, making jokes and always getting into rather - interesting - situations. When it comes down to it, he's pretty dependable, though - he'll always do the job he's given, and he doesn't tend to seriously complain about a bad situation above a playful level. He finds a way through - he's far from the ideal soldier but he tries his best.

Why are they in Blood Gulch: He's been accused of letting his usual tricks endanger his squad, though he doesn't entirely understand himself how what he thought were minor stunts added up to something he could get in trouble for. He believes that the only reason he wasn't kicked out of the service entirely was that Durga (the AI he got involved with) pulled her usual strings - he doesn't realise that she was the one to actually have planted the evidence... angry at him after he went Spartan (who knows how rampant AIs take these things), she turned the same kind of attention to him she has to other people in the past in the way of screwing with peoples' lives, though not as extreme as she does still have some affection for him.
He is completely unaware what Blood Gulch is, and he has no idea what the Halo itself is in relation to the artifact he messed with.
